Berkeley antes up

During the ALCTS Scholarly Communications Interest Group at ALA Midwinter, an attendee from the University of California at Berkeley told us that his institution was about to start paying author charges for researchers who want their publications to be open access. Read the official announcement here.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has a similar program, as does the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
