A new study from the National School Boards Association reports that 50% of online students ages 9 to 17 use social networking sites to talk about schoolwork. It is reasonable to expect that students continue this behavior as they enter college and the business world. As producers of scholarly publishing, the question for us is how we connect to students in the social networking environment. Information professionals should consider becoming involved in social networking sites in order to meet students in their environments and possibly lead them to our quality resources.
